St. Osyth Priory & Parish Trust receive National Lottery funding

Monday, February 9, 2026
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded £618,000 National Lottery funding by heritagefunduk to undertake an ambitious restoration project.
St Osyth Priory is a collection of 16 Grade I, II* and II listed buildings founded around 1121, and is currently on Historic England’s ‘At Risk’ Register. The aim is to remove the key buildings from the Register and rekindle the community’s bond with the Priory, creating opportunities and social spaces for local people and improving mental health and feelings of isolation.
The Trust’s vision is to re-establish the Priory as a community cornerstone, promoting economic growth, education, and wellbeing through collaborative activities.
We are one of six projects across the UK that have been awarded a share of £7.4m of National Lottery funding to build a more sustainable and brighter future for cherished buildings and places of worship at the heart of their communities.
