St. Osyth Priory and Parish Trust launch new website

Monday, April 20, 2026

Our newly launched website is opening a digital gateway into one of Essex’s most significant heritage restoration projects, offering the public a closer look at the revival of St Osyth Priory’s historic buildings.
The website brings together information about the National Lottery Heritage Fund–supported project, providing updates on restoration work, community engagement, and a forward look at events planned for 2026. Visitors can explore how the project is working with schools through a range of learning and outreach activities designed to connect young people with local history.
Central to the initiative is the restoration of the Grade II listed Tithe Barn and Old Dairy, two historic structures that form a key part of the St Osyth Priory estate. The new website will document progress on the conservation work and highlights the scale of the undertaking, from safeguarding historic fabric to preparing the buildings for future public use.
The launch also coincides with preparations to welcome visitors back to the site. Public access tours of St Osyth Priory and its surrounding parklands are set to begin in May, giving people the opportunity to see the restoration work first hand and learn more about the site’s history and significance. The tours are intended to offer behind-the-scenes insight into the project while allowing visitors to experience the Priory’s landscape and architecture.
With plenty already underway and more planned for the coming months, the website is expected to play a central role in keeping supporters, local residents and visitors informed and connected. Members of the public are encouraged to explore the site, follow progress, and take part in activities as the next chapter of St Osyth Priory’s history unfolds.
