David Harrington
Retired Investment Banker, HSBC
David draws on the experience of 38 years in investment banking as Treasurer to the Trust. A graduate of Oxford University, he spent the early part of his career as a financial analyst at Swiss Bank Corporation and HSBC initially pioneering research into French companies (living for 11 years in Paris), then as Retail specialist, and subsequently in a marketing role with a focus on global consumer companies. He retired from HSBC, after a 32-year career, in August 2021.
He brings to the Trust a well-honed know-how in strategy, analysis and finance. As a resident of the village, he is passionate about raising the profile of St Osyth Priory, advocating for it to be recognised as one of the key heritage assets of the East of England. An active member of the St Osyth community and church, he has campaigned on other local issues, and is a long-standing panel member of the Earls Hall Farm Community Fund (administered by the Essex Community Foundation).
